Virginia Distillery Co. Port Cask Finish Single Barrel
Barrel #10274 - Aged 7 Years- 59.8% Alc./Vol.

After the now-viral incident of a very curious raccoon wandering into a Virginia ABC store, we shared a playful post suggesting he bypassed the bourbon and went straight for our American Single Malt. The internet agreed: clearly, this raccoon has refined taste. So we took the story one step further.

We invited our new friend to the distillery and let him choose his favorite barrel from our cask house. Out of an entire room of aging whisky, one barrel stood out—and we're bottling this limited-release in his honor.

Inside, you’ll find a whisky with rich character, warm malt sweetness, and a finish that lingers longer than a raccoon caught after-hours. Crafted in the Blue Ridge Mountains, this release celebrates curiosity, chaos, and the joy of a story too good not to bottle.

Every bottle comes with a "Raccoon Approved" batch sticker, and a portion of proceeds from every bottle supports local animal shelters.

***The raccoon has insisted on quality checking each bottle, so this product will ship late Dec/early Jan.  In the meantime, you can download a printable certificate for gifting.  Please make your purchase and then print this certificate from this URL:

Tasting Notes (According to Our Furry Guest Taster)

Nose: “Warm malt aromas with hints of red fruit… and, if I may say, the distinct absence of trash cans. Delightful.”

Palate: “Smooth and rich with layers of dark cocoa, malt sweetness, and a touch of spice. Notes of vanilla, oak, and something I can only describe as ‘the feeling of discovering an unlocked door.’”

Finish: “Long, lingering, and pleasantly bold — much like my stay in that ABC store. Leaves a cozy warmth that pairs perfectly with late-night adventures.”

Overall Impression: “A remarkably well-balanced whisky. I would gladly bypass an entire shelf of bourbon for this barrel again. Two paws up.”
